Sustainability Initiatives

We are delighted to announce that the RGS Family of Schools has joined the national campaign, ‘Let’s Go Zero!’. The campaign aims to unite pupils, teachers and parents to work together in becoming zero-carbon schools by 2030.

Lets Go ZeroLet’s Go Zero 2030

The RGS Schools are joining forces with almost one thousand other schools from across the UK, sharing the pledge to work towards a more sustainable future while calling for much-needed Government support to help all schools reach their zero-carbon goals.

By raising voices together, the ‘Let’s Go Zero’ campaign harnesses the power of schools and young people to drive change and spark climate action in communities across the country, reducing emissions, increasing biodiversity and safeguarding the planet for future generations.

Executive Head of the RGS Worcester Family of Schools, John Pitt, said: “We have been working hard on raising awareness of environmental issues in all four of the RGS Schools, and our staff and pupils should be praised for their enthusiasm and creative ideas which have helped us all focus on this key issue. There is always more to do and, with the pupils’ involvement and encouragement, this pledge will help steer us on the right path to making positive changes to the sustainability of our Schools and help reduce the impact on the environment.”

Headmaster of RGS The Grange, Gareth Hughes, said: “The Eco and Sustainability agenda is high on RGS The Grange’s priorities for this term, and we will be engaging with all our pupils about environmental awareness, education and action. We have already had a ‘Wear Something Green Eco Day’, which is the start to what we aim to do this year, including planting a school orchard which will be a welcome addition to our 50-acre site.”
