RGS Pupil Becomes Welsh Fencing Champion
Congratulations to Year Ten pupil Abigail Watkins, who became the Welsh Youth League Shield Under 15 champion during Half Term. The trophy was presented to her by John Lees on behalf of Welsh Fencing at the Malvern Hills Swords Club.
As well as being the Welsh Youth Champion, Abi is now ranked seventh in Great Britain in the Under 20 Junior category and 18th in the Senior section.
Also in Fencing, Will Osborne travelled to Moulton for the ‘Elite Epee’ Junior Series Under 17 event during Half Term. He won four out of six in his pool and was seeded 8th. He won his first elimination fight 15-9 and lost the second one 12-15. He finished 11th over all. He is now 8th on the series rankings.
