Under 13A – Worcestershire County Netball Runners Up
The Under 13A Netball team competed in the Worcestershire County Tournament at Malvern St James last week. Having won all our matches in the Worcester City Cup round we looked forward to taking part in the County Competition.
The afternoon started with our most difficult match against Bromsgrove School. The wind was strong so it was a struggle to get the ball into the net. At half time Bromsgrove led by one goal; the final result saw Bromsgrove win 5-4, despite good teamwork from RGS. Next was the The Downs School; our defending was strong and the final score was 8-1 to RGS Worcester. Our next challenge was against The King’s School. After beating King’s at the City tournament it was a closely fought game. The final score was 8-7 to RGS Worcester. The next four games were less of a challenge but we carried on playing hard and trying to score as many goals as possible in case the tournament was decided on goal difference. The final scores were 12-0 against St. John's School, 16-5 against Holy Trinity School, 14-4 against Haybridge High School and 13-2 against The Chase School. Overall we came second and were crowned Worcestershire County Runners Up 2016.
Well done to the Under 13 squad which included Izzy Nott, Lizzie Rhoden, Issy Dipple, Lottie Atkinson, Mia Peppadine, Emily Seymour Perry, Eleni Coustrori, Olivia Watts, Ella Waites and Evie Dickenson. Thank you to Mrs Curtis and Miss Pollard for some excellent umpiring and coaching.
