RGS Rugby Under 15s And Under 16s Are Double Winners In The North Midlands Cups Competition

We would like to congratulate some of our Under 15 and Under 16 Rugby players who are double winners in the North Midlands Cup  competition for their club

James Mann and James Aikman, usually RGS 1st XV players, were rivals at the weekend playing for Stourbridge RFC (Aikman) and Worcester RFC (Mann) in the North Midlands Cup Final. It was a great game with a close scoreline throughout.

James Mann had the opportunity to kick the winning penalty in the dying seconds of the match on the wrong side of the posts for a right footed kicker. He took the challenge and steadied his nerves to win the match for Worcester.

The outcome of the match was Worcester 13, Stourbridge 10. It was great to see competition between the boys on the pitch and their friendliness off the pitch.

The RGS Under 15 Rugby Players, Flynn Vries, Joseph Mourino, Tim Haggitt, Felix Fortune-Hiseman, Ben Hallam and Sam Thomson played for Droitwich RFC in the North Midlands Cup Final and beat a strong Newport team.

In another close contest the outcome of the match was Droitwich 29, Newport 21.
