Winning Ways on Netball Tour
On Tuesday 25 September the RGS Worcester Under 13 Netball squad headed to The Maynard School in Exeter for the first round of the Independent Schools Netball Cup.
After a long journey, the Year Eight girls in green were ready to play their first match of the Cup.
We were all dedicated to keeping the team motivated, supporting each other and communicating well. The first quarter started well, with a strong difference of 8 goals to nil. There was sharp defence from Emma McKay and IsabelleThompson, along with excellent shooting from Annie Hallowell and Emma Woolhouse.
In the second quarter our tight-knit team worked hard to keep ahead, securing a score of 16-1 at halftime. In the third quarter, the centre court made some great interceptions and played the ball well into the circle, resulting in a 22-4 score going into the last quarter. After having played three challenging quarters, we were tired, but kept our heads up and played to the best of our ability. With the help of some great shooting, we achieved an overall score of 32-5.
We were very pleased with the result and Teyah Farmer was awarded Player of the Game. We look forward to the next round of the Cup.
The team was made up of the following Year Eight girls: Jessica Ashby, Arianne Eddy, Teyah Farmer, Annie Hallowell, Evie Leeds, Emma McKay, Isabelle Thompson, Emma Woolhouse
