Netball Primary Schools Tournament
On Thursday 15 March, 12 Primary School teams from across Worcestershire arrived to play in the annual Primary Netball Tournament at RGS Worcester.
The afternoon commenced with teams playing in two group pools, umpired by RGS Worcester staff as well as our Year Ten young leaders who did a fantastic job at developing their leadership skills.
Some excellent Netball was demonstrated in the group stages with each team playing five matches. At the end of the round Pitmaston, Thunderbolts came top of Pool A with Oasis Academy as runners up and in Pool B St Georges Catholic School came runners up with Broadthheath School the winners.
Following this the Semi Finals consisted of Oasis Academy playing Broadheath School and on the other court St George’s Catholic School took on Pitmaston Thunderbolts. Pitmaston Thunderbolts and Broadheath School came out on top entering into the final.
After a nail biting ten minutes the score was a draw so the final went to two minutes of extra time. Pitmaston Thunderbolts pulled through and came out the eventual winners keeping calm the under pressure.
A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon was had by all. Congratulations to Pitmaston Thunderbolts and we look forward to seeing the Primary School teams again next year.
