League and Cup Double for Imogen
On Sunday, RGS pupil, Imogen Sinclair, Upper Sixth, added another medal to her burgeoning collection when she picked up her League winners medal for West Bromwich Albion Women.
This followed hot on the heels of West Bromwich Albion Women’s 5-1 win against Liverpool Feds in the National Plate final in which she narrowly missed out on being awarded player of the match.
After impressing in the Development team last season, Imogen was rewarded with a place in the First team squad but consistent performances soon secured her a regular centre-half place. 17 wins out of 17 matches gave West Bromwich Albion the title and promotion, with three games to spare and the Plate win was the icing on the cake. This was a very successful first season for Imogen in open-age football.
However, this wasn’t Imogen’s only silverware over Easter. She also eased through the Cheltenham Women’s Doubles Tennis tournament, winning the title with former RGS pupil, Kate Horsburgh (2003-18).
Miss Bennett commented: “I do not know how Imogen does it. Studying for five A Levels, Elgar House Captain, playing Tennis and Football to a very high standard, but always available to represent the School at Hockey and Rounders.”
Well done Imogen on your exceptional performances.
