Graduation and Senior Prefects
As our current Lower Sixth students move up into their final year at the School, we are delighted to announce the newly appointed Head Boy and Head Girl, Alec Berry and Eleanor Carey. The Deputy Head Boys are Ben Hughes and James Thomas and Deputy Head Girls are Holly Chance and Heloise Messervy-Whiting.
Current Upper Sixth students and their parents enjoyed a very pleasant and relaxed Graduation evening last Tuesday. Before the ceremony, parents were treated to piano music played by Alice Little, Eloise Morgan and Carys Selvey. Our Guest Speaker was Peter Breakwell, the new president of the AOOE Association, who spoke about his memories of his time at the School and encouraged all the students to stay in touch not just with each other but with the wider RGS Alumni community, who would be happy to offer them support in the coming years as they embark on their careers.
Head Boy, Ben Thomson, gave the vote of thanks and followed it with a light-hearted speech that had students and parents laughing. Head Girl, Ella McCoshan, spoke movingly about the community the students had formed, thanking both staff and parents for all their support over the years.
Finally, the Headmaster gave an overview of just how impressive a contribution this year group has made to the life of RGS, particularly over their final year. He particularly thanked the parents for all their support to RGS. Parents, students and staff then moved over to Main Hall for refreshments, spilling out onto the Britannia House lawn to enjoy the weather. It was good to see so many parents and be able to celebrate the completion of the Upper Sixth students’ school careers. We wish them all the very best for their A Level results and the future.
