Former Pupil Hosts Tour of Jaguar Land Rover
Aspiring engineer, Emma Hill from Year Eleven visited Jaguar Land Rover this week for a tour of the site with former RGS pupil, Chris Bellamy (1995-99). Chris, who studied at the University of Cambridge, is now a Lead Engineer in Customer Focussed Innovation at JLR.
The tour included the virtual innovation centre, structural laboratory tests, workshops, climatic test laboratories, offices, the 3D Virtual Reality Cave and the test track.
After a fascinating day Emma said: “I wasn't really sure exactly what engineers do, so I thought it would be interesting to visit and get a better idea. It was really useful to have a tour and see all of the different aspects.
“The JLR site is huge and I was very impressed by everything I saw. I feel confident now that I want to pursue a career in engineering and am excited about what the future holds.”
