Cross-Country Successes
A large contingent of 15 RGS pupils were chosen to represent Worcester District at the County Cross-Country Championships at the end of January. The pupils from Years Eight, Nine and Ten, tackled the course around the University of Worcester site at Top Barn and all performed admirably.
Notable successes included Noah Dunnett gaining 5th place and Jonathan Abbotts 7th place in the Junior race along with 6th place for Dylan Teasdale in the Intermediate race. All three boys therefore qualified for the Hereford and Worcestershire teams for the National Championships in March – a great achievement!
Last weekend two teams of Under 13s took part in the Abberley Hall relays. Great team spirit was shown by all the runners as they tackled the hilly and muddy route around their grounds to secure 4th place finishes for both teams.
To round off the Cross-Country season we are planning a finale event at Worcester Pitchcroft Parkrun on Saturday 19 March for pupils (and staff and parents) to run the 5k course. Please do add the date to your diaries and come and join us!
