Year Eleven pupil, Tazmin Barnes’ new EP called ‘Powerful’ was released last night and has entered the iTunes Album Charts at No. 11 (eclipsing the No. 16 position she achieved with her debut EP ‘Trapped’ in 2017). We believe she is the first ever 15 year- old to have two Top 20 albums in the charts.
The EP features 4 original tracks, all written by Tazmin, covering a range of topical social issues such as Climate Change, Standing Up for Your Rights and Difficult Relationships. Two of the tracks from Powerful had already been selected as Finalists in the Under 18 category of the 2017 UK Songwriting Contest (organised by the BRIT Awards), with results imminent, whilst the entire EP was featured ‘live in session’ by BBC Introducing Hereford & Worcester in December.
This weekend Tazmin will record a duet (in Chinese) with Chinese X-Factor winner Mary-Jess Leaverland as a guest artist on her new album. Tamzin has also been invited to collaborate with Platinum Award -winning Producer Fred Cox (of ‘Rag n Bone Man’ fame) during the Summer.
Revue Music Magazine has listed Tazmin as one of 35 global ‘Artists to Watch in 2018′. She has already been booked to perform at several major Festivals this summer including Mello Festival (Hanley Castle) where she is on the line up with Soul2Soul, The Christians and Toyah Wilcox and at Sunshine Festival (Upton) where she is billed alongside Status Quo, Katrina & the Waves and Go West.
