Inter County Badminton
Emma Rhoden, Year Eleven, represented Worcestershire County in the Badminton England Inter-County Tournament, held at Nottingham University over the Easter holidays.
The four day tournament included an intense playing schedule, with at least three matches per day (10 games in each match). Emma relates, “The match that we were determined to win was the one against Herefordshire who had beaten us in the Shires match at the beginning of the season. At this point it was five matches to Worcestershire and four to Herefordshire, so it was all to play for in my mixed doubles game. Happily we won comfortably which meant that we moved up a group in the results table coming 28th out of 36 counties. We were really pleased with the whole team's performance and overall result.”
Emma concludes, “I really enjoyed the tournament, it was great opportunity to play and develop with my team and it was a nice way to end the season.”
