Saturday 8 December saw the annual Senior Rugby Dinner take place in Perrins Hall. This year we had a special guest to act as auctioneer, former RGS pupil Phillip Serrell.
Phillip, himself an accomplished sportsman at RGS, is best known for being a regular expert on BBC programmes ‘Bargain Hunt’, `Flipping Profit’ and ‘Flog It!’, and is no stranger to an auction. Attendees said that he was “amazing” and encouraged the bidders to raise the stakes, which resulted in a fantastic £4,000 being raised!
This money, added to the £1,000 raised at the Junior Rugby dinner held on Wednesday 6 December, will be used to buy contact sleds, two scrum sleds, RGS branded team water bottles for each age group, and will contribute towards the cost of some floodlights. A great success!
