Out of Africa Outreach

For the Art Department’s last Outreach Event of the academic year, Year Five pupils from the Worcestershire Rivers Multi Academy Trust were invited to RGS Worcester for an ‘Out of Africa’ experience.

In the art studios a range of colourful masks were constructed and painted and a tower of giraffes, a dazzle of zebras, a pride of lions and a herd of elephants marched to the school lawns to perform a dance.

This was inspired by African music that they had learned and practised during the morning.

A big thank you to our Lower Sixth artists, Izzy Tranter and Katie Fish and to the staff and pupils of Great Witley Primary, Northwick Manor Primary, St Clement’s Primary and St Peter’s Primary, Droitwich, for their creative enthusiasm and for making the day such a success. An overheard comment as they were leaving was, “I just don’t want to leave this lovely place”. We think that says it all and the Art Department looks forward to welcoming them again next year.
