Netball Nationals

RGS Netball Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18 teams took part in the West Midlands Regional Tournament at Telford Langley School on Sunday 27 January.

RGS was the only School to have three teams qualify for the Regional tournament. The Under 16s narrowly missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals. The Under 14 and Under 18 teams reached the semi-finals and went on to win their matches, thereby qualifying for the National Finals on Saturday 16 March for the first time for the School.

Our thanks to parents who braved freezing temperatures, high winds, hail and rain to support the girls. Well done to the girls for coping so brilliantly with the dreadful playing conditions. A rather chilly Headmaster said, “I am absolutely delighted for the girls, parents and coaches. The teams were a real credit to the School, not only in how they played, but in how they behaved immaculately and set high standards all day.

In addition to this, the Under 12A Netball team played and won the Worcester City Netball tournament on Monday 28 January. The young team looks set to follow their peers if their early performances are anything to go by. Well done to all of our talented pupils.
