Wednesday 9 May saw 29 pupils from Year Five at Belbroughton Primary School take part in a theatrical workshop at RGS with Mr Morgan. This three-hour workshop gave the pupils the opportunity to develop theatre skills and techniques and then apply them to two of Roald Dahl’s much-loved poems; Veruca Salt and Little Red Riding Hood. These pupils were invited to the School as part of the School’s Outreach work to take part in this highly creative morning and develop a partnership between the schools.
Fun was had by all, with a particular highlight, being Mr Morgan’s favourite warm up exercise, The Eastenders Game. The group of 9 and 10 year olds were then put through their theatrical paces as they were tasked with bringing the two poems to life with weird and wacky characters and locations.
We look forward to seeing the Year Fives from Belbroughton Primary School again when they come to the Primary School matinée of this Summer’s Production of ‘Flash Gordon’.
