Ben Sutton, Year Eleven, is pleased to have qualified for the England Physical Disabilities Cricket squad 2019.
Ben, who has a Tarsal Coalition, where the bones are fused in his left ankle, has only started playing Disability Cricket since 2018. The condition was only discovered when he was ten years old and since then, he has continued to play Cricket to County level. He had not considered being eligible for the Disability squad until his Worcestershire County Cricket Coach recommended him for the Lion’s Team.
Ben was fortunate enough to advance to the Winter Qualification and successfully secure his place in the 2019 squad. Ben said: “It is exciting to be in the overall Squad and to have the opportunity to represent my country. I have had to miss some training due to exams and I am looking forward to a summer of Cricket once they are finished.”
We wish Ben every success representing England, in the World Series this summer.
