On Tuesday, RGS Springfield held a fun Easter-Themed French Outreach Event! 🇫🇷🐰
Children took part in activities such as colouring their own Easter bunny hats, decorating eggs, making traditional French Easter bells, and moulding bunnies with playdough!
Today, some of our RGS Springfield pupils from Frogs, Dragonflies, Years One and Two visited the Swan Theatre for the performance of Zog, the friendly Dragon eager to win a golden star at Madam Dragon`s School. With the Theatre nearby pupils enjoyed the walk from School to the Swan Theatre. 🐲
Last week we enjoyed the last Riding Club of the Lent Term. 🐎
Our pupils have come a long way with their Riding skills, and have mastered trotting, halting, and even rode without their leaders! Well done all for your fantastic progress, and we look forward to seeing you out on the Horses again in the Trinity Term! 🏅
✨ This week we enjoyed an enchanting performance of Shakespeare`s `A Midsummer Night`s Dream` by our talented pupils! 🎭 They brought to life the whimsical characters, captivating audiences with their dramatic delivery. 🌟 Skilfully navigating the complexities of love, illusion, and mischief, it was a spellbinding performance! 🌌
To round off British Science Week with a blast, RGS Springfield pupils dressed up as Scientists today. It has been a fun filled week filled with scientific surprises, Year Five took part in Eggstravagaza at RGS Worcester, Nursery pupils experimented with exploding lemons, and Year Four delved into the science behind tooth decay.
Last Saturday, RGS Springfield showed their support at the annual Superball match. 🏐
From taking part in a Netball coaching session where they refined their Netball skills, to dazzling the crowd in the Cheerleading Dance Performance. Well done to all of the pupils for showing your enthusiasm and contributing to such a successful Superball 2024. 🌟
In Science, Year Four unveiled the results of their tooth decay experiment. They tested the effect different liquids had on their teeth using egg shells as they react in a similar way to teeth.
One group put their eggs into fizzy drinks, another put their eggs into fruit juices and the remaining group put different amounts of sugar into water. The eggs were left in their liquids for 7 days. The results saw the eggs in fizzy drinks had changed, some in colour and all in appearance, even the eggs in the sugar-free drink did not come out well! Year Four concluded that whilst they know sugar is not good for their teeth, there are clearly other ingredients in drinks that affect tooth decay. 🦷
Year Five spent a fun morning at RGS Worcester participating in the Eggstravaganza for National Science Week. The pupils were tasked with designing and building a crane, using only paper straws, pipe cleaners, paper clips and string.
Congratulations to our Springfield team who won, alongside a team from RGS The Grange. Well done to all of Year Five for being great ambassadors for Springfield with their hard effort and teamwork. 👏
