Higher Education

Making a difference

RGS has all embracing experience in this area and an excellent track record of helping students secure places at the top Universities in the UK, including Oxford and Cambridge, as well as other leading Universities worldwide.  Our personal links with Universities and Colleges mean that we can make a real difference.

Comprehensive Support with Higher Education

We aim to encourage:

  • Effective decision making
  • Informed and realistic subject choices
  • Management and exploitation of opportunities
  • Development of knowledge, skills and abilities

We offer comprehensive advice at every stage of an application. Tutors, Heads of Department, the Head of Sixth Form and Sixth Form Teachers, ISCO advisors and the Academic Management Team all assist in this advice and support.

Students have access to Unifrog, the only Careers tool that contains a comprehensive list of every University course and every Apprenticeship vacancy in the UK. As an innovative product, it allows parents to login alongside students, so that they become part of the Careers guidance process.

The UCAS process begins in the Lower Sixth, with a Next Step Day being held in November. This explores life beyond the Sixth Form. Employability follows in the Lent term with the Expo and in Trinity term, UCAS visit the School to deliver lectures on the application process. The UCAS event is for parents and students to listen to speakers who talk on finance, making a successful application, the changing realities of Higher Education in the UK, studying abroad, alternatives to Higher Education and other subject areas. Higher and Degree Apprenticeships have specialist support from the head of Careers as well as advice through the whole process.

RGS Worcester is currently working with InvestIN, a London-based organisation led by a group of experienced professionals from some of the world’s most competitive careers.
