Cricket Success Continues
The U11 boys continued their good form this season and secured a place at the National Cricket Finals in July.
Playing two matches against Prestfelde (Shropshire) and The Crescent School (Warwickshire) at the regional competition played at Shrewsbury School on Monday. Starting on 200 and losing 5 for every wicket they lost, the boys got off to a poor start with two unfortunate run outs in the first 2 overs. Despite this, the boys rallied and posted a very competitive 267 from their 12 overs. With a fantastic bowling performance they ended up comfortable winners with Prestfelde scoring just 209 from their 12 overs. This result set up a final against the Crescent School who had also won their first match. Batting first, RGS managed another very competitive score on a difficult batting pitch managing 257 from their 12 overs. RGS The Grange once again got off to a perfect start managing 8 wickets in the first 5 overs which took the game away from their opponents. Despite this they did not let up continuing to take regular wickets throughout meaning the Crescent School ended up on 198.
An excellent all round Cricket performance gives the boys the chance to go for a national title on Wednesday 11 July.
