This week, RGS The Grange has been celebrating Chinese New Year.
Ladybirds and Caterpillars have had a great time learning all about the Chinese New Year. In their PE lesson, they took part in Chinese Dragon dancing. First, they watched a short video of a New Year’s parade, where they saw lots of people dressed in bright colours waving a beautiful dragon. The children danced about the hall waving their arms and moving their bodies in different ways just like the dragon did. They played lots of musical instruments along to the Chinese music. Then, they shared the parachute with friends to make some lovely patterns with all the beautiful colours.
Year One celebrated the Chinese New Year by getting involved in lots of exciting activities including creating tangrams of the animals from the Chinese New Year story, drama work acting the story out and making Chinese lanterns.
