The Under 11 boys travelled to sunny Cannock for the England Hockey Regional Championships. The boys started well and created plenty of chances in their first game but were unable to hold onto their 1-0 lead ending up drawing the game 1-1. After some tactical changes and words of wisdom the RGS the Grange boys went from strength to strength, winning their remaining groups games 2-0 , 3-0 and 4-0 topping their group.
The semi final meant we were taking on Worcestershire rivals Bromsgrove and in an end to end battle we managed to score the winner in the last minute to secure a place in the 3 way final.
Knowing one last effort was needed the boys put in one of their best performances coming out 2-0 winners. The next final game (remember there are 3 teams in this final!?) ended 0-0 despite having a large percentage of play. The boys now had to wait as the other teams in the final played off. Long story short, the result went our way meaning we were crowned Midlands Champions for the first time going one better than last years runners up. A great achievement for the boys. Well Done!
