Super Blue Moon

A Super Blue Blood Moon and the forecast of clear skies was too good an opportunity to pass up for Astronomy Club.  The group headed for RGS The Grange to take advantage of the observatory. Moonrise was set for 5:01pm and the group spent some time getting the telescope pointing in the correct direction and using the binoculars to try to spot the moon as it rose. Unfortunately after waiting for some time the Moon had not made it above the skyline so we reluctantly headed back to the minibus just as Mr Deeks spotted the moon shining through the trees. It was a beautiful sight through the binoculars and we could go home happy that we had at last seen it.
