It’s been a “fishy” week in Year Six as the children have begun an extended art project on the fish found in the River Severn. After studying pictures of various species, they have been completing detailed observational drawings in pencil, looking carefully and replicating the patterns on the scales and fins. Once complete the drawings will be copied and transformed using a watercolour wash. The class will then use clay to make three dimensional models which will be glazed and gilded with gold. Finally we will study the art of Escher and use stylised versions of the original observational drawings to produce tessellations in his style. We are all looking forward to seeing the final pieces later this term!
