It has been a musical week at Springfield with two exciting events. On Tuesday five musicians visited us from the Birmingham Conservatoire. They met our Year Five and Six students who were keen to ask lots of questions and listen to some music. After school the musicians gave a recital for parents and children which was a real privilege to see and hear.
On Thursday Mrs McCabe took Year Five and Six to the Birmingham Town Hall to watch a Sheku Kanneh-Mason Recital for Schools. Sheku is currently 19 but has already succeeded in so many ways as a musician. He passed his Grade 8 cello at the age of nine with the highest marks in Britain. He performed on Britain’s Got Talent with his siblings (four of them who are all musicians too) and at the age of sixteen became the BBC Young Musician of the Year.
It was very exciting to attend the performance and a privilege to see a such a young and talented musician.
