French Galette – Bon Appétit!

Year Five were rewarded this week for all their hard work studying and understanding the French recipe for ‘La Galette’, which is eaten in France to celebrate the Festival of the Kings.

Using instructions in French, they followed the recipe to produce two ‘Galettes’. They looked as good as the one we saw in Raymond Blanc’s video, if not better!

Everyone agreed that the best bit of the afternoon was the eating. Mr Allen joined the class to sample the delicious ‘Galette’, but he was not the one to find ‘la fève’ in his slice. That honour went to Reuben and Rose, who were crowned king and queen of Year Five.

Vive le roi!   Vive la reine!
