Our parents are encouraged to take an active role in the life of the school. Good communication is the key and parents are kept well informed of their child’s progress and how best they can support their child’s learning at home.
The Springfield Parents’ Association (SPA) is the school’s parent/teacher association which works hard to promote RGS Springfield and to raise money to benefit both the children here and also to support national and local charities.
The committee is made up of parents and teachers who meet several times a term to discuss ways of raising money and also to consider the best use of the money already in the bank!. Events can be fundraising or social or both. Highlights include social drinks at a local bar, family quiz evenings, a “Secret Garden Summer Ball”, film screenings or the incredibly popular Frozen singalong.
Recent purchases include replacing our adventure trail equipment, geocaching GPS equipment, car and buggies for Early Years and new construction toys for Before and After School Care.
S.P.A. produces a half-termly roundup of events, past and forthcoming, and details the way donations have been spent.
