Students at RGS Worcester are celebrating success today after the A Level examination results were published nationally this morning. An extremely impressive 75% of all grades were graded A* to B, and 95% graded A*-C which is an even stronger set of results than last year.
On the strength of their examination results the students can now go on to accept conditional offers at the leading Universities across the country, including Head Boy, Ben Thomson, and Head Girl, Ella McCoshan, who both achieved three A*s at A Level, securing their Oxbridge places. John Pitt, Headmaster, congratulated them, saying “Ella and Ben have been superb leaders at the School and played such a full part in school life whilst also developing academically and achieving such superb results and the reward of a place at Cambridge and Oxford respectively.”
Interestingly, other high achievers at the School have chosen to pursue a more direct route into their careers and have received job offers with international organisations. Eloise Morgan has been offered a Higher Degree Apprenticeship with Deloitte and Grace Hewitt has a place on the KPMG School Leavers Programme.
John Pitt, Headmaster, said, “Many congratulations to the students who have performed extremely well during a difficult time of A Level reforms. They have achieved excellent results and contributed so much to the School. I am particularly pleased to see that they have set themselves up so well for University or whatever they wish to do after leaving RGS. Thank you also to the teachers who have worked so hard, encouraged and supported the students.”
“Well done to all of our Upper Sixth who now head off to so many different and diverse careers – to Oxbridge and other leading Universities, as well as in to theatre, music, design and the world of business. They demonstrate that young people really can achieve remarkable things and we wish them every success for the future.”
