“On 3 October six senior hockey girls travelled to Repton school to take part in MT13. It was an action-packed day, playing 5 hours of hockey and being coached by some extremely experienced coaches; including Kate and Halen Richardson Walsh. The girls had an incredible experience and learnt lots of new things that they can bring into the school and club play, including skills such as jump back defending, 3D elimination skills and how to use there favourite skills in penalty shuffles. Overall the girls had a great day playing at a high standard with incredible players. They would like to thank the teachers for organising such a great day.

“On 27 September we went to a MT13 Hockey Junior Conference. During the first half of the Conference we were split into goal keepers and out field players. We did the warm up first, in which we used a volley ball, pentagon ladders and big cones. Then we warmed up with our sticks and ball where we did a carrying and passing drill . The goal keepers worked on accuracy, speed and placing to start off with. The outfield players were all working on individual skills in different groups. We were coached by Kate and Helen Richardson Walsh and lots of other amazing coaches. There were eight different rotations each focusing on certain skills, including drag flicking, 3D skills and elimination skills. After lunch, the goalkeepers were added into the outfield players’ activities and tried to put what they had learnt into game play. The outfield players then focused on the tactical side of hockey with their schools. Each station focused on a different tactic and each coach helped us to put them into the situation. We all really enjoyed the conference and learnt a lot in just a day.”
