Senior School Prizegiving took place last week in Perrins Hall and the guest speaker, RGS Alumnus and Worcester Warriors Scrum half Jonny Arr, made the occasion a particularly memorable one. Following an introduction by the Chair of Governors, Rosemary Ham, and an impressive round up of the past year’s successes by the Headmaster, Jonny took to the podium to share his experiences.
He captured the imagination of every pupil as he talked about seizing opportunities throughout time spent at school and inspired them with his story – which started with a passion for rugby and continued with the hard training and consistent practice which enabled him to become the player he is today. He has achieved 100 Premiership Caps and is the fourth most capped player in his professional era. It is Jonny’s testimonial season at the Warriors this year, marking ten years of service at the club.
Following the ceremony, pupils and parents attended a reception in Main Hall, where many pupils (and parents) took the chance to talk to Jonny in person.
Congratulations to all the pupils who received awards and many thanks to Jonny for making the day so special.
