Year Ten pupil, James Reynolds took to the commentary box at Royal Ascot recently to experience the thrill of live commentary.
James said, “Horse racing has been my passion since I was small and I first attended Royal Ascot aged two. I have been very keen to pursue a career as a racecourse commentator for many years and have been fortunate to shadow many of the leading commentators at work.
During half term I visited Ascot Racecourse and was given a unique opportunity to take to the box by Channel 4 race commentator Lee McKenzie. I was given half a minute to learn the runners and riders before it was my turn to commentate. It was a brilliant opportunity and has made me more certain than ever that this is what I want to do.”
