Under 18 Netball Team Through To Regionals

The Under 18 Netball Team is through to the regionals after another fantastic performance. With the squad having the first set of matches off, we had time to get in a thorough warm up, several drills and a chance to check out our competition. This paid off as our play was superb throughout the court in our first match, winning against Malvern St James (20-2). This gave us a much needed boost of confidence for our next match against Bromsgrove.

Despite losing to Bromsgrove, the perseverance of the team and the uplifting roar from the squad on the side-line did not let us drop our heads. This positivity, along with some inspiring shooting, gave us a 13-5 win against Christopher Whitehead Language College. In our fourth match against Haybridge School, we showed intensity both in attack and defence, giving us a win of 20-6. We then lifted our heads, took a deep

breath and prepared for our match against King’s School Worcester as we knew it would be a challenge. The first few centres were turned over from King’s giving them a 4-0 lead, but RGS dug deep and by half time we gained a worthy score. We kept the intensity high in both the play and the cheering.
The girls worked like clockwork to gain a win of 13-9.

Our last match against Malvern College was challenging, however we battled on through to win 12-6. Overall, the girls played really well and utterly deserved to be through to Regionals. I can’t wait for the positivity and determination to continue.

Well done girls.
