Scientists in the making?

The Year Four classrooms have been a sea of crocodile clips and wire this week and the children have loved investigating circuits and the component parts required to make a lightbulb illuminate.

They also experimented by adding multiple batteries into their circuits and considered the effect that they had on the brightness of the bulb. The children were able to identify complete and incomplete circuits and offer explanations as to why a circuit was or was not complete. Whoops of excitement could be heard from down the corridor, as the children successfully managed to complete their circuits and they now can not wait to introduce even more components into their circuits, like buzzers, switches and motors. We could be in for a noisy few weeks..!
