Three Little Pigs blow down the house

Oink! took centre stage in Britannia Square this week, as RGSAO preparatory school Springfield put on two nights of fairy tale fun to wow friends and family.  

Based upon the famous tale of The Three Little Pigs, this new version offered Year 2, 3 and 5 pupils a massive challenge and one that the young stars readily accepted – leaving audiences in raptures.

Oink’s blend of comedy, song and dance captivated the crowd, with the string of humorous one-liners making sure all enjoyed a hearty laugh.

The special production ran from Tuesday, May 19 to Wednesday, May 20 in the school’s Main Hall – on the Britannia Square site – at 7pm each evening, playing to a total audience in excess of 80 people.

Lucy as Frank Trotter and Niamh as BB Wolf deserve a special mention for their performances. With the comic duo of Flora (Horace the Horse / Mowbray Rat) and Bethan (Derek The Donkey / Melton Rat) keeping the crowd entertained throughout.

Performers Alice, Gussie, Otty, Leila, Saphron, Alexander, Nemi, Kezia, Elise and Carys also put in notable performances - during a play that the whole cast and crew could be proud of.

“I am so proud of the Springfield Year 2, 3 and 5 pupils in the Creative Arts Club. The Oink performances have been fantastic and loved by all involved,” commented Marion Lloyd, Headmistress of Springfield.

“The pupils never cease to amaze me – their confidence and level of achievement are a great example for all at the school.”
