Under Milk Wood to grace Worcester

13 March 2009

Under Milk Wood is to be showcased in Worcester’s Godfrey Brown Theatre next week, as RGS Worcester & The Alice Ottley School put on two nights of the Dylan Thomas comedy as part of the schools Arts Festival.

Thomas’ famous play - first performed for radio – features an all-seeing narrator who invites the audience to listen to the dreams and innermost thoughts of the inhabitants of an imaginary small Welsh Village, Llareggub.

The comic characters of Llareggub include Mrs Ogmore-Pritchard, who relentlessly bosses her two dead husbands; Captain Cat, reliving his seafaring times; the two Mrs Dai Breads; Organ Morgan, obsessed with his music; and Polly Garter, pinning for her dead lover.

Chosen by the RGSAO Sixth Form, this must see Arts Festival production promises a great evening for all, with a lot of laughs.

The comedy will run from Wednesday, March 18 to Thursday, March 19 in the school’s Godfrey Brown Theatre – on the Upper Tything site – at 7.30pm each evening.

Tickets are FREE of charge (to celebrate the Art Festival) from RGS Worcester & The Alice Ottley School, for more information or tickets please call Carole Matthews in the RGSAO Box Office on 01905 613391, email boxoffice@rgsao.org or visit www.rgsw.org.uk
