Coming away from any school fixture with a sweep is teriffic and this represented a fine day for RGSAO netball.
The 3s were far too strong for their opponents, allowing players to swap positions and gain experience in different areas of the court. The 2s also led from the start, and were three goals up at half time in what had all the hallmarks of a tight contest. Then, an extraordinary scoring spree in the third period, saw the school net 10 unanswered goals. The team was able to canter through the final quarter and an impressive victory.
The 1s faced a strong OSH side in a very tense encounter. Up by just a solitary goal at quarter time, the game had ebbed and flowed with huge commitment from both sides. The second period was dominated by defence, RGSAO defence, from all players on-court, GK to GS. Stifling and harrassing OSH players into errors and turnovers, this allowed us to stretch out to a 9-5 lead at the half.
More of the same in the third period, as the tension crackled and the speed of the game did not let up, in spite of the huge amounts of energy expended by the players. 14-10. As the floodlights came on for the final period, it was the RGSAO determination that shone the brightest and the match was closed out 20-14.

Wednesday 5th November
v Evesham Netball Club
Lost 19-21
It was a real nailbiter. We played a consumate first quarter, leading 8-3. But this ended up being our high point and we succumbed to the greater experience and control that Evesham showed in the closing stages. 14-14 going into the final period, saw goals exchanged until the opposition turned over our centre pass and that made all the difference.
Very frustrating to be so close!
Saturday 18th October

U13A lost 6 - 4
U13B won 18 - 9
The A team had a very closely fought game, but struggled to get the ball
into the shooters.
The B team had a great game and led from the 1st quarter.
Wednesday 15th October
v Access 2 Netball Club
1st VII won 37 - 17 We over-ran them a bit after a sketchy 1st quarter
v Malvern St James
2nd VII drew 22 - 22
Saturday 11th October
v Stratford Netball Club
1st VII won 21 - 19
As tense as it sounds. A very inexpierenced team fought back from a six goal defecit mid-way through the 3rd quarter to gain a dramatic victory. The final quarter saw error-free netball combined with excellent movement and a high tempo. Great credit must go to Harriet Taylor, the only year 13 in the squad, who turned in a leading-from-the-front performance.
