Five RGSAO Teachers to take on Warriors
21 April 2009
Teachers will be dusting off their boots this bank holiday (May 4) as they look to take on a squad of players made up of Worcester Warriors Staff.
Mr Hughes, Mr Friend, Mr Moffatt, Mr Bee and Mr Taylor of RGS Worcester & The Alice Ottley School will be joining senior and primary school teachers from around Worcestershire for the charity match - in aid of the Matt Hampson Trust and Wooden Spoon.
Other participants include staff from: Elgar, Droitwich High, The Chase, Nunnery Wood, Winterfold House, Alvechurch, Tewkesbury High, Evesham High, Prince Henry’s Evesham and Bishop Perowne.
The match, which will be played on the main pitch of Sixways Stadium at 7pm on Monday, May 4 will make up the first part of the Warriors involvement in a national charity campaign by all 12 Guinness Premiership clubs.
The Warriors team will feature players across the club’s various departments, including the 1st XV Rugby Department, Academy Department, Community Department and Media Department. Experienced Tony Windo, Lee Fortey and Billy McGinty will also feature during the game, which will be refereed by Guinness Premiership Official Paul Dix.
Tickets are priced at £3 each and are available from Margaret Sturdy at RGSAO on 01905 613391 or the Warriors Box Office on 01905 454183. Match day parking is available with a charge of £2 on the night - which will also go to the charities.
Please book quickly to avoid disappointment and support two great charities.
