Fauré Requiem at Worcester Cathedral
3 March 2009
Worcester Cathedral is playing host to a choral and orchestral concert by RGS Worcester & The Alice Ottley School later this month.
The Chamber Choir will be performing Haydn’s ‘Insanae et Venae Curae,’ as well as the mesmerising ‘Sleep’ by Eric Whitacre.
However, the highlight of the evening promises to be a performance of Fauré’s ‘Requiem’ for choir and orchestra with Polly Jackson singing the ‘Pie Jesu’ and James Sinclair the ‘Libera Me’ solos.
The top trebles from RGS The Grange will join the Senior School choir for the Fauré, while the first half of the concert will feature solo items from RGS The Grange and Springfield choirs, as well as the Senior School Chamber Orchestra.
“It has been a number of years since RGS Worcester & The Alice Ottley School
has put on a concert of this scale in Worcester Cathedral, and I am sure it will have been worth the wait,” commented Andy Rattue, Headmaster.
The concert takes place on Tuesday 17th March at 7.30 pm and tickets are priced at just £4 (£2 concessions).
If you would like to come to the concert please contact RGS Worcester & The Alice Ottley School on 01905 613391 or email boxoffice@rgsao.org stating your name, address and the number of tickets you require.
Tickets will also be available on the night at the Cathedral.
