Excellent Inspection Report for RGSAO
30 March 2009
The Independent Schools Inspectorate team (the equivalent of Ofsted for independent schools) spent four days at RGSAO at the end of January and the final Inspection Report has just arrived.
RGSAO fulfils all the relevant regulatory requirements, and the inspectors praised many aspects of the way the School is run, including the high quality of the educational experience provided, the quality of care and relationships, links with parents and the community and the effectiveness of governance and management. The small number of recommendations will be useful in planning ways to improve our performance further.
One of the most pleasing comments in the Report reads as follows: ‘The spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of the pupils is outstanding. In every area of school life, both in and out of the classroom, the school achieves its aim of cultivating an ethos where each individual is cared for and valued’.
Headmaster Andy Rattue commented: ‘The very positive tone and content of the Report are a tribute to the efforts of all members of our community, and especially to those of the staff and pupils. We have a wonderful spirit in the school which you can feel as you walk round the campus. I think the inspectors liked what they saw and were clearly impressed by the good humour, maturity and co-operation between pupils and staff. We not only provide a top quality academic education but also foster a sense of belonging and many opportunities to be involved in the activities which encourage leadership potential. We aspire to be the best, and are not ashamed to admit it!’
