Comic Relief at RGSAO

13 March 2009

RGS Worcester & The Alice Ottley School joined the nation today in supporting Red Nose Day 2009 and doing something funny for money.

With every child donating money to wear red for the day, as well as buying their Red Nose from the school, RGSAO had already raised around £800 by 9am – an amount that will make a significant difference.

Through a range of activities - many led by the pupils – during the morning and break, the amount collected stood at over £1,000 by 12.30pm and is continuing to grow with more events happening over lunch and into the afternoon.

RGSAO activities included leg-waxing, cake and doughnut sales, teachers’ fancy dress, sponge the teacher, jelly baths, Gladiator inflatable challenge and a lot, lot more.

“The whole school has been buzzing today and a great deal of fun has been had by all,” commented Andy Rattue, Headmaster of RGS Worcester & The Alice Ottley School.

“We have also raised a fantastic amount of money for Comic Relief and an amount that is continuing to grow. We can all be very proud of our contributions to such a worth while cause.”
